What adds to any nature scene?

22 May

Its easy! Have an old junker lying around? Why not light it on fire, leave it near a beutiful lake to rot out or simply push it into the water until it rots out? Beautiful!

All is not right in Pistol Valley.

There is a direct correlation between a land’s beauty and privacy, and the surrounding population of junk cars. When we were looking for land, we always knew we were far enough out of the city when the first couple of abandoned auto corpses showed up near the road. Think of them as man-made reefs, only drier. Or pretend they’re native and catalog them in your own compendium of car-shaped trees and plants.

Oldsmobilium Rusticus: Often found over there by that one rock. Blooms in late spring/early summer. Native tribes used berries to calm sore stomachs….

hehe..yes. I actually use to geocache quite a bit..the ones that I always created were deep in the woods where I would find junkers like these..the thing is leaving junkers is not as common as it was in the past since the price of metal is so high..that is what the burnt out one was..buring off all the junk so they can sell the scrap that remains..must have been some fire…on the middle of a back road..I am acutally suprised I did not hear or smell anything as this is about 1.5km away…but youa re right..it really is a good indicator that you are far enough outside the city!

I saw someone dig a big hole with a backhoe next to a junker. They may have burned it first I cant remember. Anyway, next time I went by it was in the hole getting buried. I felt quite grumpy by the whole thing as they buried it by a stream of water. There is a charge to dispose of tires around here. So a very common scene is a pile of tires laying around.
