Roadwork?

24 Jun

Out hiking on the loop today and it appears that there is some improvements being made to the road that was part of our old road/driveway..it could use some improving..it would take us 9 minutes to get out to the actual road (4 during winter) when we had to go in and out that way.

And another part of the old driveway is dry..and this is the first time in 5 years this spot has been dry. I was actually shocked.

And with the dried up area comes some deer tracks, looks like a big one.

Why was it quicker to get to the main road in winter?

I looked up your February post with the aerial map for context. Is this road being improved because they are going to start building more houses along it as well? I think I would find it very frustrating to have two roads to my house and both of them poorly maintained. For better or worse, we have a paved county road just 10 meters from our house. Twice a year the street sweeper goes by and we start worrying that it is their first step toward annexing us into the nearest town.

with the packed down snow the road is smoother..the back road was not plowed and only driven on..strange but true!

Wow..that is investigative blogging (hehe)..initially I am unsire but if they were going to build houses the road would have to be much better..and for clarity, my ‘driveway’ is a temporary driveway..which will become permanant once properties come closer..so it is not complete..but I don’t pressure anyone to get it finished because once the road imporves people will be much closer ( once they build ) and people might start complaining about my propensity for couch burning! hehe..I DO want a road nearby in the next 5 years though…but if it is still rough I have an excuse to buy a jeep! hehe
