Decesions That Weigh Heavy

18 Aug

Sometimes choices are easy..we took apart the old deck but when it came time ta the old 2inch thick floorboards the wood began to give way instead of the nails coming out and I was worried about ruining the wood..but it weighed too heavy move (it must weigh 500 pounds)…

So we put it in the place next years deck (or year after). The structure was still very solid..propped it up with railway ties..

We will get to reuse the stairs…

Put a new walkway edge in…

Backfilled between some railway ties so no gaps are present to allow critters under our place…

Extended a flowerbed over to the deck..

Now…what to do with the old front part of the deck…we were thinking of using it to create a front section of the shed…we will see.

Nice work! Those decks will be so nice for hanging out outdoors comfortably. I sure do look forward to the day when we tackle a decent deck here.
