Instant Burning Bush and European Snowball Bed

25 May

..we found such an easy way to aid in the growth of a Japanese Maple..for $24 you can get a new one! A* and I were window shopping at the garden center and while looking at the Japanese Maples forsale we talked, ‘How long do you think it will be before our recovering Japansese Maple gets to be this size?’ A* asked while pointing at a (the one we bought) Japanese Maple. ‘Around 6 years’ I reply. ‘…BUT if you are willing to pay $4 a year we can buy this one’. So we opted for the $4 a year option..hopefully we can get 1 cent of enjoyment out of this tree to make it worth our while. I moved the old one to another location..hopefully it will make it but I am not going to fret about it too much.

Our other planting event was the creation of another flow/bush/tree bed to house the replacement for the burning bush that we never replaced then we did replace with a burning bush…the bottom line is that we created another location to plant stuff.

..and last years Flowering Pear save/addition is in bloom..can’t wait for it to get bigger..

Between the 2 of these new trees (and last years Flowering Pear) things are looking MUCH more tree’y around here. The European Showball (viburnum) is not a real hardy tree so we will have to see if it makes it through the future..the first winter for both of these trees will be the hardest but once they make it through they will be that much more hardy. I see a burlap fall party in the future!

nice looking tree – be sure to fence it off this winter or loki will have you back to 24/year ;-)

you will have a jungle paradise in 5-10 years – can’t wait to see it then!

    cheers and happy spring buddy!
