Shipping Container Church

Finally took a drive by the shipping container church and saw it was in a finished state so we snapped a picture or 2. I guess it is more of a shipping container storage unit but interesting idea..not really suitable to live in but with some insulation, windows and a door it would make an interesting shelter. Sure would be secure.

I don’t think I would want to attend a service at this church though…unless I was a sardine.

I’ve seen the idea of shipping container homes tossed around as a good example of recycling or possible residences in a dystopian future, but I’m doubtful. They might be earthquake proof, but they are hideous without lots of dressing up, cold, and completely unfinished. It seems like there should be a better use for thousands of pounds of steel.

I’m surprised they went to the trouble of installing siding but then didn’t paint the door. If you painted the door to match the walls and then painted a faux smaller door in a dark tone, it would have almost disguised the container entirely.

yeah..I agree. I really wanted a 4 shipping container home but after research it seemed like it might be rife with issues..and work.

I was surprised too actually..with all the work they put into it to make it look nice they really should have done the front too!
