..sure. Time is not free. OK I bought the shavings too. I did originally buy the insulation too. Cheap, not $13, fine!..but it does not get much cheaper than this as far as ways to preserve valuable garden booty for the winter.

I have used your same “cold storage unit” as a compost bin.
How late in the season did you put the potatoes in? Any worries about putting them in too early for rot?
